TIN Protocols

Protokoll-Versionen

TIN 1.0

Erste Implementierung, nur für Diagnosezwecke. Die Heizgeräte hatten analoge Bedienfelder, später kamen die ersten nicht-I-Net Ready CP-Plus-Geräte.

TIN 3.2

Die ersten I-Net Ready Heizgeräte verwenden dieses Protokoll. Die Steuerplatine der Truma Combi benötigt mindestens Softwareversion 5.0.0.

TIN 4.0

Aktuelle Version, verwendet seit Mitte 2018. Nur diese Version kann mit den neueren I-NetX-Panels verwendet werden.

Weitere Protokolldetails sind durch Klicken auf die Protokollversion verfügbar.

Bekannte Komponenten

Truma Combi 2,4,6 E and D Variants

The standard heater from Truma. The control unit has 2 RJ12 TIN connections. If the heater has a gray housing, updating to I-Net Ready on TIN 3.2 is only possible by replacing the control unit - a field update is not provided by Truma. From mid-2018 onwards, a completely new control unit has been installed that uses the current protocol 4.0. Connection of the analog control panel is still possible. The heater is a LIN slave.

Truma CP Plus

The central control panel for the Combi heater, control of Aventa air conditioning systems is also possible. The control panel is the LIN Master in the Truma TIN ecosystem. There are two variants of the CP Plus: the standard variant with one TIN RJ12 connection (connection of additional components via passive distributors) and the special CI variant, which has an additional RJ12 connection with the same pin assignment for CI-bus. Unfortunately, this version is not available to normal users anywhere. You must be careful with older versions - they cannot handle newer protocols, although the hardware is identical. An STM32 update would be possible, but here too Truma is unfortunately inflexible.

Truma InetX

The newer version of the CP Plus with integrated Bluetooth and unfortunately only resistive touch. Naturally, the housing form does not fit into the CP Plus cutout. InetX only supports protocol TIN 4.0 from mid-2018 onwards. Here too there are 2 versions: the normal retrofit variant and the so-called Pro version. Although both versions are fully equipped and have both CI-bus and CAN connections, the CI-bus is not software-activated in the normal version, which is absolutely incomprehensible. Remote control is currently only possible locally via Bluetooth.

Truma iNet X Connect

Introduced in 2024, this is Truma’s latest remote module that enables mobile network connectivity for the iNet X system. Available from specialist dealers at €399, it provides remote control of connected Truma devices via the iNet X app using mobile networks across 40 European countries. The system includes a 2-year service package, with additional 30- or 365-day packages available afterwards. The Connect module links to the iNet X (Pro) Panel via cable and also provides CAN bus connectivity for integration with other caravan systems. Remote control is not available in eight countries due to telecommunications restrictions.

Truma Aventa

Truma’s air conditioning systems also have an RJ12 connection for the TIN bus. Unfortunately, the included cable is often not routed to the heater control during installation. Connection to the CP-Plus, InetX, or Alde panel enables control of the air conditioning from there as well.

Alde

The Alde heaters acquired by Truma also speak TIN in newer versions, recognizable by the control panel which then has a red RJ12 (TIN) and yellow RJ12 (CI-bus) socket. In contrast to Truma, the CI-bus connection is always active and enables control via it.

Truma Inet Box

The still current remote control solution from Truma, consisting of a controller with a GSM modem and a Bluetooth interface. Operation is done with the Truma app, initial setup via Bluetooth, remote operation via SMS. Unfortunately, even in Germany around 2025, operation via the outdated GSM standard will no longer be possible. The box has 2 TIN 1 connections where the box behaves as a slave towards the CP Plus, as well as a TIN 2 connection where the box acts as a LIN Master towards an Aventa Comfort. The box speaks both TIN 3.2 and TIN 4.0.

Truma Moover

The Moover units have a TIN connection in the form of a Rast 2.5 connector for diagnostic purposes.

Truma Service Interface

The quite expensive Truma Service Interface is based on the BabyLIN Interface from Lipowsky and enables diagnosis of all Truma TIN components with Windows software. A Live Explorer can display all parameters live during operation.
